Steven C. Atkins, Psy.D
Dr. Steve Atkins is a NH & VT licensed psychologist and school consultant whose practice focuses on a range of issues, including specific learning disabilities, ADHD, developmental theory, school-related mental health issues/policy and systemic theory. He maintains a private practice and also holds an adjunct position on the Dartmouth Medical School Faculty, where he provides lectures on systemic theory for the Fellows in the Department of Psychiatry. He consults for school districts where he fine-tunes school districts’ behavioral and Student Assistance Programs; leads social skills groups; presents to students, and addresses student’s mental health issues with school administrations and faculty. Dr. Atkins holds a Masters degree in Education from Harvard University and a Doctorate of Psychology from the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology. Dr. Atkins joined the Second Growth Board in September 2014.
Jim Damren
Jim Damren is a graduate of Lebanon High School and earned his BA degree in English at Plymouth State College. He is an insurance agent with A.B. Gile, Inc. and has 26 years of experience in the industry. Jim has a passion for athletics, with a primary focus on youth sports, particularly hockey, and has been a coach for more than 30 years. He is a lifelong resident of Lebanon, NH and resides in West Lebanon with his wife Lisa and three sons Ryan, Nate and Aaron. Jim joined the Second Growth Board in September of 2013.
Peter Guillette, Board Chair
Peter Guillette is owner of ProMed Sales and Consulting, a pharmaceutical sales and consulting company. He serves as a commissioner and Treasurer on the Upper Valley Lake Sunapee Regional Planning Commission representing the Town of Grantham. Peter also serves the Town of Grantham on the Planning Board and Capital Improvement Committee and is an alternate on the Zoning Board. He previously served nine years on the School Board in Hanover, NH and served on the Planning Board in Claremont, NH. Peter lives in Grantham, NH with his wife Jacqui. He joined the Second Growth Board in 2011.
Amber McGonis, CPA, Board Treasurer
Amber McGonis is a supervisor at Tyler, Simms & St. Sauveur in Lebanon, NH. She graduated from Bryant University with a B.S. in accounting in May 2008. Having grown up in the Upper Valley, Amber is now committed to the area and currently resides in Lebanon, NH with her husband and new baby. Amber has been serving our community on Second Growth’s board since September of 2013.
David Urso, MBA
David Urso is the Director of Residential Services at Kendal at Hanover, and serves as a member of Kendal’s Leadership Team, Strategic Planning Committee, and is the Chair of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee. In his role as Director of Residential Services, David oversees the departments of dining services, environmental services, and facilities. He is a 2017 graduate of Leadership Upper Valley. David joined the Second Growth Board of Directors in September 2017.
Nancy O’Brien, MBA
Nancy O’Brien is a Program Coordinator for The Dartmouth Institute where she participates in the systemized organizational protocol for collating the diverse needs of multi-million dollar grant submissions. Nancy’s numerous volunteer activities have included Ski School Instructor in Quechee, organizer for Hartford Lightening Soccer, Hartford Recreatioin Department, Music2Life, and has supported Ottauquechee Elementary School in a number of ways. Nancy joined the Second Growth Board of Directors in January 2021.
Heidi Postupack, Executive Director
Heidi Postupack joined Second Growth as Executive Director in July 2016, after spending 10 years in the Development Department at West Central Behavioral Health. She has over 25 years experience in fund development, marketing, business development and operations in both the profit and non-profit worlds, and is a 2017 graduate of Leadership Upper Valley. Heidi and her husband Jeff live in Hanover, NH where they raised two children and have been involved in a number of school, church, and community activities. Heidi currently serves on the board of the Hanover Rotary Club and as Chair of the Philanthropy Committee. Past volunteer activities including serving as Chair of the Hanover Finance Committee, and serving on the boards of The Coop Food Store and Parish Players.
